It is getting excellent reviews everywhere, and the price is extremely tempting.

I have heard the only downside is if you shoot a lot of sports, action etc. That's not my bag so it doesn't enter into the decision making process. I am really starting to get the hang of my K3 and K5. So for me I am not going to put the cart in front of the horse....😆

I would agree on Sports Michael, but for K1 only. K3 II on the other hand is stellar sport performer. I use it all the time for sporting (soccer indoor and outdoor) events. Paired with either DFA 70-200 or Sigma 50-500 it is absolutely stellar. 10fps and very accurate focus.

I use the Tamaron 70 to 210 for any sports shoots which are few and far between. I have a "Bigma" 500mm but that's so damn heavy I have to put it on a tripod. Takes great shots though. I hear Pentax has a new fast long zoom on the market. Oh where is that F1.8 ........😆

Yep. Sigma 50-500 is heavy but manageable. I've started using SpiderCam belt, helps to "recover" in between shots, or during half times... New DFA 70-200 is awesome...but a little short as far as distance goes for my taste..(with better bokeh of course), so I'm alternating,

I agree. That is why I got the "Bigma". I like to shoot standing birds. I hear the Pentax 70 to 200 is awesome. Have you used it @ 2.8?

Yes, I've used it for Indoor soccer. It is best. You need as much light as you could gather.

BTW goofing around with my 43 FA lens (not design for digital sensors of today :) on K1 body.

Here you go just EXIF settings 1/6 F1.9 ISO 400 @ 43 mm obviously. Camera in aperture priority. Very poor light, 8:30 PM pitch black outside of the window, and just couple of 40W ceiling lights in the bedroom. Hand Held, and IBIS enabled.

Sorry for composition object, but his eye been found small enough to actually do AF (which almost immediately focused).

Just to prove how good the old glass could be (limited).

Just some interesting info.

Just thought to share link to the dpreview comparisons page, would be useful...

Not really just for K1...you could do a whole lot of other comparisons there, such as change cameras, iso, type of shot (if camera allows eg pixel shift or no, electronic shutter on or off, etc...). Currently set to show "comparable" frame, but you could instead see full size of the frame, or print size. Also you could change lighting condition as well as object of comparison (on the left). Anyway, quite interesting to see output from different cameras under different conditions (and not only for K1):

https://www.dpreview...277261536549257

Enjoy

Finally !

DXO Mark tested K1: https://www.dxomark....eras/Pentax/K-1

Still no PixelShift tests (well they have tested SuperRaw in the past, so we know they can do it...) But anyway great result for the camera even w/o the feature. Again if you want to see what PixelShift does refer to my previous post, and enable PixelShift :)
