After waiting for what seemed ages, I picked up my new 1DX MK II body today. If you guys any are interested? I will post up my hands on review and some test shots for you to look at and pick my brains.

I know I am lucky to get my hands on one and know not everyone will be buying one but the technology in the 1DX II will be filtering down into newer Canon bodies and it might be of interest to Canon shooters who are waiting on the new bodies?

Let me know your thoughts

Not ready to take the plunge into that deep of water yet myself but still very interested in what you have to say.

Very interested, especially in low light wildlife shots. It's now available at Adorama almost ready to take the plunge!

Hi guys, a quick update, I have shot Rugby, cricket and moto X over the last 2 days and the camera has performed much better than I expected. It has been rained on and covered in mud !!! and it didn't miss a shot.

When I process some shots I will do a proper in the field review.

I've seen it JB, I could of done a better video though, it was too basic.... I would imagine anyone who buys a MK II would know how to put a card and battery in it? he didn't show how to set it up very well. IMHO

I didn't watch much of it due to owning that camera. I look for canon videos that do setups for the focus system.

If someone buys that body and doesn't know how to put the card in, well I would call that more money the sense.

JB, it was a pretty pointless video, he didn't show anything new. The C&T real life review of the MK wasn't too great either IMHO.

I guess all those who buy Porsche or Ferrari are not expected to be able to drive them as one might expect... so I guess Tony might think it best to cover the simple aspects too...? As for the quality of the more technical aspects of the camera I trust your judgement on that FAR more than mine Chimpy.

My take was that he was not overly enthusiastic on the 1DX MK II or the D5.

I agree John, it's probably because he doesn't shoot sports or action photography. If he did he would probably have a different view of the 1DX and D5? It looked like he was doing the video because he had to, maybe Canon would take the body back if he did not do a review and set up video.

He kept on banging on about the 1DX's interface being poor.....why? It's the same as the 1DX MK 1 and the 7D MK2 and I would imagine the same as the EOS 5D MK3.

I can't wait to see the Nikon D5 set up and review videos lol.

Anyways thats my moan over.....it is a stunning camera that proper sports and action photographs are loving. Nuff said.

Yeah people where wining about the D5 dynamic range being poorer than expected at 100 ISO. Who the f cares what the DR is at 100 ISO? When your shooting sports and indoor concerts/action low light wildlife action? After 800 ISO it (and I imagine the 1DX Mll ) are going to kick the crap out of everything.
