Great textures.

The funny thing is, it reminds me of the the very early photographs you see in history books that cover the various wars of the late 19th century.  It has that sharp, somewhat harsh look to it.  It looks great, perfectly in keeping with the subject. :)

Thanks a lot,Roderick. Actually this is the exactly an effect I was going after (a little 1800ish). Little B&W curve and luma curve processing with film grain in C1.

Here is some isometric shot with 2 of those guns as well

Another great photo, Vlad.

Any idea how a pair of Russian howitzers ended up in sunny California ?

Fort Ross. Russian Menace :) If I'm not mistaken It is first European fort in Northern California. Also first Windmill in California has been built there.

Here: https://en.wikipedia...oss,_California

Some more photos (not guns) from it. I find this place simply fascinating, surroundings are simply amazing ! These are just some more quick shots from the fort including famous windmill. :)

Chapel is also very very old (you could see it on first shot far end)

Great sequence of photos.

The place looks empty !

But I suppose there are lots of attractions besides secondhand cannons to lure the jaded tourist... :)

I do like your processing.  Makes the buildings sing.

Oh yes. Plenty of things to see. Just waited until "almost" golden hour (and closing hour) to take these, this is why you wont see people around.
