It's really sad to see this. I tend to judge companies based on how they do things when things go wrong and Sony isn't doing well... A coworker of mine recently got a Sony A7 and I admit I've had a fair bit of full-frame envy as a result. But stuff like this makes me want to cross Sony off the list of any potential upgrade.

I have a Sony and love the camera, haven't had any problems with it so unable to comment on their customer service. I'm sure they will make strides to improve this, Matt Granger is a fairly large name in the photography world and Sony has had to see this and the potential loss in sales.

I'm pretty sure that they will be very quick to up their service game after the negative experience and the huge following he has.
Something he said near the end really should hit home to Sony. They should be spending a lot less on magazine adds and advertising and much more on quality service arrangements. It is much better for a company to have life long happy customers than to have to always try and get new ones.
