D3300 Flash Diffuser Stops The Flash Working

OK I might be being silly here but someone bought me a set of camera stuff, a few filters, flash diffusers, lens cleaning stuff etc. This one if you're interested (link). It's a bit of a budget set I know but something to play about with. Anyway when equipping the flash diffuser the flash doesn't work. Any Ideas?

You're probably pushing the flash head a little bit towards the body which makes the flash sensor think that the flash unit is not exposed.

Flex your diffuser a bit.

Flex your diffuser a bit.

Thanks a lot, it must be quite sensitive as I was sure it wasn't touching the flash unit. Now it works fine
