This shot was taken at Ingleton in the Yorkshire Dales, I decided to process the shot as a BW HDR to add drama to the shot.

Very nicely done Chimpy. Lots to look at and the rock walls draw you to look for more and follow right up the hillside.

Thanks for sharing and inspiring.

Thanks guys, KG I will post up a colour version in a bit to see what you prefer?

Chimpy.

Here is the colour version KG, which do you prefer? I like the BW best.

I like the B&W best with the dramatic sky although the color is very nice as well but B&W for me.

Not a photograph, but a work of art...

Why not both?

And yeah, I love the tone of the black and white one more.

Doug.. why not both...hmm  Well I guess you have a point there, though I guess the extra degree of input to create the HDR version and choose B&W introduces another level of skill and artistic input which with HDR seems so very easy to overcook to the extent it jars the mind.....

Guess I may be visually oversensitive on occasion..(-:   Being fortunate enough to have occasionally repaired land drains and had a go at small repairs on dry stone walling,  Chimpy`s rendition of the original image causes me to relax, quietly contemplate and appreciate the efforts of those who look after the landscape as a necessary part of their everyday life to care for their animals and earn a coin...   The detail in the image sucked me in...(-:

Wow!

Its incredible that you saw the B&W picture inside the colour one.

I love the B&W photograph.

If you don't have a spare wall then get the builders in, skim it and then hang that photograph on it!

Thanks guys, glad you like it.  Rod, I see the picture in my head before I put the camera up to my eye.... I suppose that's what happens when you have been doing photography for as many years as I have.

I was taught by some exceptional photographers back in the day and now I am passing on my knowledge to a few local guys I teach.

Chimpy.

Extra lucky then. I've got a family vacation coming next year with an uncle that's been doing photography for longer than I've been alive. I'm going to be bugging him constantly. :D

I've been looking at the B&W photo again.

That large boulder (an eratic maybe?) and the little trailer in the next field are great touches.

The whole scene is charged with energy. (IMO)

Funny how less is more sometimes.

Ta for the lesson. :)

I feel the urge to do my kate Bush/Wuthering Heights impression, and thats not a good thing

I get a very strong Hitchcock vibe myself. If it was one of his films something terrible is about to happen.
