I'm reading a book called "Picture Perfect Posing".  It sure has opened my eyes!  One of the chapters is about hand positioning.  Who would have thought that a full chapter could be written about hands?  Anyway, one of the subtitles is "Alien hands".  What the author means by this is that if there is a hand in the image but you can't see the origin of the hand (a hint of an arm that's attached to the hand, for example) the hand looks like it's just a hand that happened to get into the image.

I would never have considered this until reading and seeing pictures.  Your shot shows exactly what he meant.  We know it's the man's hand, but if you look at it from a compositional perspective, it does look like a hand happened to get into the picture.  I hope this makes sense to you.

I read the book too and see the "hand from nowhere" ^^ but in this moment I don't want to interupt the couple just for the hand =))

Nice, but you have cut of the top of his head?

I crop the photo to fill the frame so his hair is cut off a bit @_@

You should of turned the camera to portrait orientation as there lots of dead space either side doing nothing for the shot IMHO.

Chimpy.
