I've recently not been able to import my RAW (NEF) files into Photoshop. I figured my install needed an update so I waited... nothing, next I thought it had become corrupt... so I re installed it... nope.

I asked at my local shop and they were having problems too.

Any idea?

You're not giving us enough info.

Which camera is giving you problems ?
Which PhotoShop version are you running ?
Have you updated the Camera RAW to the latest version ? ( you need to do this from Bridge or manually, open adobe bridge & check for updates from there ).

Sorry, I'm trying to import D7100 and D750 files. I'm using Photoshop CS5. I've run Adobe Bridge and it says I am up to date.

Oh I see, CS5.

Adobe unfortunately closed the update doorway on the camera-raw aspect of PhotoShop CS5.

You can't update to the real latest versions ( 8.x ) with CS5.

The only way to work in CS5 with your current cameras will be via using the DNG Converter v8.7

It's a utility that converts your NEF RAW files to DNG ( no image quality loss at all ), and then PhotoShop CS5 is able to open the DNG file.

Otherwise, to ignore the extra step... you'll have to upgrade to PhotoShop CC.

I also use CS5 but use my raw converter first (capture one pro 8) then export into PS as a TIFF.

The latest Adobe DNG converter can be found here for

Windows http://www.adobe.com...latform=Windows

Mac        http://www.adobe.com...tform=Macintosh

It is an extra step you need to do with your images, but is free.

All the other options cost cash.
