Nice one Rod, lots of detail enough to see, I am enjoying the catchlight etc. in the eye and detail in the body plumage, though note while the grass is detailed out in front of the bird that the tail begins to loose detail... ?  Might that be as the result of the in-camera`s focus point selected as being single point and centred in the display, as opposed to whatever might have been considered a more suitable selection...or am I typing rubbish as ever...(-:

By the way I might have thought that to be a Sparrow, such is the level of my ornithological knowledge..!!!

Thanks Geedee.

The DoF is pretty shallow with the 600mm. and I was at f6.3.

Strangely enough the dunnock is also known as a "hedge sparrow".  One look at the beak will tell you its not a sparrow - the beak is much more pointy.

More like a little thrush.

Nice shot Rod. Looks sharp and good feather detail. Where are you guys posting? Matt's site does not load up easily for me for some reason. I wish more were using your SDPC. I posted on other sites before so this is not like starting over but there was always something comfortable about this one.

I have no idea if or when this site will stop working for me John, but as long as it does I will hang around posting when I can, I do like the format and capabilities of this site and the bots that appear in the INTRO section cause me no real issues.

Seems the majority of our friends have departed as the result of the various messages re the site`s demise, and I also note that from the stats at the bottom of the page that most times when I visit, there are perhaps 150 or so non members visiting the site as well as perhaps a couple of "Stunners" who have not posted anything at any time and been members since 2014..with occasional visits by some of the folk who may have been regulars at one time or other.... Go figure.. (-:

Hello John.

I post on Matt's site

http://www.photograforum.com/index.php

Try flushing your browser cache.

Are you on Windows?  If so open a command prompt and run ipconfig /flushdns

Also can try

nbtstat -R and nbtstat -RR (caps) to flush the caches and finally,

netstat -R  and netstat -RR to do the same thing

On a Mac

Go to Applications -> Utilities -> Terminal
Type the following command and press Enter:

    1

    dscacheutil -flushcache

After that type the second command and press Enter:

    1

    sudo killall -HUP mDNSResponder

It might help.
