Made my way this morning to one of my favorite parks for wildlife photography. It was early and the park was mostly empty save for myself and a few dedicated bird watchers throwing seed around. It was a little chilly and breezy and the sky was covered in mid and high level clouds making the light soft but workable. Got the two Cardinal shots pretty quickly as she was going for some seeds that had been put on the ground near some trees. The Sparrow the sitting in a thick bush with about a dozen other Sparrows and he was the only one that I was able to get a decent shot of. Wrapped the shoot up after spending about 2 hours out there and after the winds picked up some more, dropping the windchill, and freezing my gloveless hands. It was a pretty good morning overall.Female Northern CardinalCanon 7D, Tamron SP 70-300mm @ 300mm & f/7.1, ISO 2500, 1/200sCanon 7D, Tamron SP 70-300mm @ 218mm & f/7.1, ISO 4000, 1/200sMale House SparrowCanon 7D, Tamron SP 70-300mm @ 300mm & f/7.1, ISO 1000, 1/200s

The cardinal is beautiful David. Nice pose (facing camera), super detail, and bokeh. Congrats!
