Well - that's why my post failed. How do you link to flickr so your photo shows?  I tried just pasting the link in, and the link worked, but there was no photo showing on the SDP post - just the blue link.  I also tried to paste the URL for the flickr photo in the add photo thing, and it tried to download and failed.

How do you link to flickr and have your photo show on the SDP screen and function with the link?

Are there any restrictions on this forum regarding flickr photo size?

Thanks in advance!

Jonny

Jonny, I don't know how but there was a discussion about this topic a while back.

How do I link to a Flickr photo?
Click “Grab the HTML BBCode.” Copy the HTML code that appears and paste it into the body section of your Web page, if you want to embed an image link. Otherwise, click “Grab the Link,“ copy the text link that appears and proceed to the next section to learn how to embed a text link.

Thanks Rod......I am still not sure what to do regarding Flickr.   I loaded then unloaded some things.  I have been trying the 1600x900 crop, and I like it, but posting it here has issues.  I may give it a try - that Chron.com thing.  When I post on the Mu43 forum, the images look good.  When I bring them here, they are soft.  The waxwing was actually extra crispy, and it looked non-crispified here.  This site was down for me the past hour too.   Happy was correct..... FWIW (with a cowboy hat and fringe jacket B))

Yep, I noticed the site being unavailable for a few minutes earlier.

I've had some odd effects happening to one or two of my photos in the past - mainly appearing darker or un-contrasty, while others post with no problems..

Its 2333 hrs local time and I've just returned from an attempt to photograph the milky way.  I drove about an hour into the mountains to try to escape the glare of Dublin city but  looks like I'll have to go further out.  There's a "dark sky" national park on the Atlantic coast about 3 hours away so I might give it a go later in the year..

Was listening to another "captain" of the music scene on the car's mp3 player - Captain Beefheart (! :o )

He's weird.  I had to counterbalance him with some classic Van Morrison "....and the caravan is on its way...."

If you have light pollution, I saw this when looking at the Haida filters.  I haven't tried the product, but this guy gives some thoughts.  If you don't like filter, don't use; but filter is good if you want to try.  It's a screw-on filter and may be worth looking into......
