This picture has a great a mount of detail and I could crop in closer, but I think I would loose the feel of the image and the what I would call 3D effect of the grass. What do you guys think? Does the foreground grass and sharp water give a sense of depth to the picture?

Nice image that sharp and bathed in nice warm light. I like the crop as is, you’d lose too much of the scene by cropping in.

Very nice image, great detail and lovely mood.  I think I might be tempted to crop, but judiciously.  In my own photos I'm always trying to see where there is dead space that detracts from the central story of the image.  In this case I might take out most of the dark space at the top of the image and then a bit off the left side.  I don't think you'd lose anything but it would pull the eye in a bit more.

Great shot. Tack sharp with great light. Thinking I would like to see a version somewhere in between with a bit more on top, a bit less below. About where the grass starts to turn green. I would try to level+- the darker area at the top.

This completely takes out the water...   Does the picture not look flatter now?    IDK   I guess I am wondering is there a time when the subject does not need to be cropped so much?  Thinking as I type, I guess if the story was larger and more was going on in the image than sharp water?  HMMMm  ponders

Much improved for me. The in focus bottom was distracting from the subject. Still down on the right. Go 1:1 on the front wing in LR. Use a 50 feather brush to paint it and bring up the exposure .10 and +8 shadows.

Beautiful shot Edward.  I like the tighter crop better; when you have detail to spare, it's an asset that should be showcased - IMO.  What would you hang on your wall?  Everyone is different, but I like to see the subject kind of in your face.  Great job on the EV and on the focus.  Congrats - it's a beauty!
