I decided to give the D7500 a test drive. I set focus to Dynamic-9 and noticed that it acted EXACTLY like single point, in every way.  I did some googling and found that several people have similar issue (on D7500, D500, & D5).  Has anyone here had issue with the D7500's Dynamic 9 or 25 focus modes?

If so, is there a solution?

Even when looking at the photos in View or Capture, the focus point is always the center of the group.  So, basically, it does nothing.

I have not used other than single point or manual focus, and have no experience with a D7500 but used the search term Nikon D7500 dynamic focus which provided loads of information. Seems dynamic focus is for moving subjects and you need to make a further selection in dynamic focus to suit the likely presentation of your preferred subject across the frame and then try out the focus system..?
