I have been trying to get a shot of the Osprey I've been spotting for over a week at Lake Hefner but he was illusive.  Was fixing to wrap up my morning wildlife photography attempt when I decided to drive along one of the many gravel shore roads that leads to a boat launching ramp.  When I rounded a corner, there he was sitting in a tree eating his breakfast.  I quickly pulled the car over, rolled the window down, grabbed the camera off of the passenger seat and snapped several photos.  I left feeling accomplished on photographing my first Osprey.

David great series of photos, I like the expression on the first one.

It made me chuckle when I opened it in lightroom.

One of my favorite critters, great shots!!

Thank you.

Good shots David. Looks like a 5 month+- old Male. Guessing he will be migrating south from your area soon.

There are at least 2 or 3 at the lake that I've seen over the summer.  There is another one that is much larger than this one so I'm guessing that is one of the parents.  It's getting to be that time of year for a lot of birds to migrate out.  The Mississippi Kites left about 3 weeks ago and a few other species I've been seeing less and less of over the weeks.

Beautiful stuff, David.

Can't believe the "headlights" on the first one.

It's the look of "can't you see I'm eating here!"

Awesome pics David! Superb detail and a gruesome dinner too !   It looks like he was about to fly away with his fish  B)

Shortly after I took the series he took off and flew into the denser area of trees with what was left of his fish.

Great shots, David! Super detail on those incredible stare-down eyes in #1

Thank you.

Outstanding!

Thank you very much.
