Yup, amazing the detail that can be had when you get in close and personal with non-macro lenses, first time I tried was a real wake up call.. The water droplets and range of colour make for very interesting subject matter, though with a macro lens you might have found even more in one of the droplets..(-: A very nice image indeed Ed.

The colors are pretty amazing. Reminds me of a ham and cheese pizza! How close were you to the shroom? Very cool!

Thank you guys!

I do not remember exactly, but just a couple feet ( maybe 2 or 3). As close as I could get and still focus

Rod, well, I felt definitely kinda weird saying it, that's for sure. 😳

Ed, I've been experimenting and testing minimum focus distances with different lenses, then adding extension tubes. Also to see the impact on depth of field. It's been fun and I was just curious how close you could get at 200mm. Thanks.

Nice capture! I want to say although amazingly sharp where it is sharp and well exposed I would say it is a candidate for focus stacking. I know you were hand holding but I think it would be an incredible image if it was all sharp.
