I was just getting set up a couple of evenings ago when I saw a young Osprey flying towards the nest. At first I thought one of the chicks from the nest was flying but soon realized it was from another Osprey family. The new bird ( first flight is my guess ) landed in the nest. The two chicks already in the nest stayed low until their mother arrived and told the intruder to leave in no uncertain terms. The chicks got more bold after their mother arrived and got in on the message to let the new bird know he was not welcome. The new bird was obviously scared and unsure what to do. After a few minutes another adult Osprey ( the young birds father ) arrived and touched down with a fish. The new bird got up the courage to fly again leaving the two chicks and the adult female very excited but unharmed. I was not set up when any of this happened so these are handheld and my settings were a bit off with ISO set at a landscape 100. Hopefully interesting image story telling. 1/2500, f5, ISO - 100, 500mm f4 E, D500. cc

Outstanding as usual! Really impressive image quality. They have a polish and shine to them that screams skill in both shooting and post work.

Nothing about those images gives a hint that you were not set up John, very impressive indeed.

I can only echo Kris' comments. The third one from the top is my favorite.

(I'm still getting directed to Yahoo when I click any of the pictures -  whats up with that ?

Rod - guessing I don't have them set up for public viewing on Flickr. I am not sure what the benefits of allowing public viewing would be?

Haha John :)

Makes perfect sense.  I'm with you wrt access to strangers.

They're called strangers because they're strange.

And frankly, sometimes when I look in the mirror, I ask myself, "whats that weirdo doing in my house "?

I love those photographs.

All the best
