Another shot from Pigeon Point. Not the best sunset conditions, and I would like to try some different compositions of this....

CC welcome as always!

Details: 18mm f/11 ISO100 103sec with 10-stop ND filter

Really nice image, the sky makes it for me. Did you use a filter or was the light such that you could expose for that length of time at f11...

F11 seems to be a favourite of landscape photographers regardless of lens selected.... hmm.  Thanks for posting.

Yeah, I did use a 10-stop filter, to get the motion in the clouds. And f/11 is a good stop to get a decent DOF...

Thanks for the nice comments!

Lovely photograph. I really like the way the sky, the sea and the lighthouse have all picked up the soft light of the sunset.

Thank you! I like the pastel-y colors of the sunset as well. While I was waiting for the sun to set, I was hoping for the big pink-peach-red spectacular, but that didn't happen. The soft blue-yellow tones turned out really nice too, I think.

Without overdoing it, there's more that a hint of the work of the Skagen impressionist painters in that shot.  They were nuts about that blue light you get at coastal sunsets.

Nice work

Nice work

Thank you! Funny you should say that: I grew up in Denmark, so Skagen and their painters are very familiar to me... Altho I didn't make the connection myself.

Thanks again!

Beautiful shot with good soft light.  I would see if you could either shoot wider or at least get more of a foreground in frame,  the location can add a lot to an image and this looks like a beautiful one.

Thank you! I have a different crop, which I think ended up distracting from the lighthouse a bit too much. But a panoramic might have worked well too, in retrospect.

Thank you for the nice words. I am sort of obsessed with LE photography... Possibly to my detriment. :-)
