Nicely framed up sharp image John, their plumage seems to act like camo in that grass which I guess is to be expected..

Lovely subtle colours and textures.  Love the bokeh against the sharp foreground.  A fine composition all around.

On second look, I think the dead grasses add something nice to the photograph.  An echo of the bird's colouring.

Thaks Rod - I left the larger crop to show the natural habitat they nest in and yes they do blend in. It is easy to miss them if they are down and still.

Thanks Edward. 99.9% its a breeding adult Willet. Sandpiper's do look similar but are smaller birds.
