Superb.... last weeks weather was none too good, but you still managed to get wonderful images capturing fantastic action of a very rare bird....Impressive to say the least.

I was in the area of Ardalnish on the Ross of Mull the day they released the first sea eagles to be reintroduced to Scotland. If memory serves they were brought from Scandanavia... though that was quite a few years back and my memory is poor.

I am guessing they are throwing the Eagles fish to attract the them in?

In short yes. It's very well monitored and they make sure the birds don't become reliant on the fish.

Fantastic pictures Matt!!!  Those are pictures I dream of taking.    I love the Fog? and the dark green background of the first pic. Well done!

Given the rarity of these birds and the area of sea/land they are spread over I suspect it would be close to impossible if not impossible to capture such images without a degree of local assistance...?

They're all beautiful, Matt.

I love that first one with the misty hillside.

And the one on your flickr page with the tern buzzing the eagle.

Only in very recent years have I become interested in nature even then marginally so, though can`t help going back and looking at those Sea Eagle pics Matt given the size and rarity of the creatures, and the great effort put in to returning them from 19th century (?)extinction in this part of the world.

Mr Wild if you like mist and greenery it would be hard to beat West coast locations in Ireland and Scotland, though Scotland has more sheltered West facing coastal locations as the result of the many islands, Yup PLENTY of rain and low level cloud though we do have midgies to contend with..(-:  I think I picked up on the C&T show that Tony might have been frustrated by Scottish cloud levels... though if interested in the topography it might be worth beaming up Thomas Heaton he visited both Sky (Scottish West Coast Island) and Glen Coe where he took a few pics the latter while trying out a VW camper van (RV)  hopefully I have provided enough data for anyone interested in beaming up the relative subject matter to put into a search engine...
