This shot was taken at a lovely beach in Northumberland, believe it or not this is it on a busy day ! It was lovely and sunny but the wind was wipping off the North sea and it was freezing.

Wonderful image, it reminds me of the years my wife and I lived on the east coast and traveled to Montauk, Long Island every year in December.  We celebrated her birthday and her college best friend's birthday.  Freezing cold, me and the boys would drive the beach in a Jeep with the top down and surfcasters in hand, looking for the glimmer of fish running (Steelheads if I remember, I'm not a fisherman, my roll was to make sure the lads had a full beer in their hands), thanks for bringing back the memories! Cheers

Lovely composition and colours.

Like Doug, I'm getting flashbacks to freezin' summer days and sand in me egg sandwiches... ;)

Those would have been Striper's ( Striped Bass ) Doug.

I like the composition and colors as well. A more dramatic sky would add and maybe just a bit more space on the rhs so the point is not cut off.

I have spent some time looking at your pic Chimpy thinking of something to type by way of CC, though ever aware that you are a master of the art of photography... and that I am but a duffer. Nothing in your image POPS for ME, and I suspect that whether an image has something to make it stand out or not may be a basis for judgement these days given that PP process are so accessible to everyone.... Thus I spent more time taking in the scene looking to see if I could find that which drew you to press the button..(-:

Given the time of day (?) the lighting seems kinda bland though as I looked around I think I spotted a small stream and wondered if it might have had something to offer, and given there is grass growing in the sand, if some of it could not have been framed in the foreground. The line of the bay seems to be the most prominent element of the image, I also like the patterns created by the waves. I guess that I spent time looking around suggests that the image works as other than an accurate and detailed record of a nice location...(-:

I would like to improve on my landscape photography though many of the pics that stop me in my tracks seem to have a goodly proportion of PP in the end product which ever interests me, to the extent I feel I now must get more involved in learning such processes...

Just thinking in type..(-:

Thanks for the feedback guys, I posted the shot because it showed an empty beach and some sunny weather it's not one of my finest landscapes that's for sure, but it brought back some lovely memories.
