With a boring sky ^_^ from about 40 yards, it's a youngster, very vocal right now, one or both of the parents seem to be close by observing all the time right now.  Tried real hard to position myself to get a head on shot but no luck today.

Beautiful!

On my monitor there's a greenish hue under his wings.  I did a Google search and noticed it on a few images. Is it a reflection off the ground or an actual tint on the bird ?

106 deg (41C) !!! Christ, I was melting last week, climbing Djouce, when it was a mere 26 deg C (78F)

Thanks very much guys.

Rod, I cam only suggest like you mentioned, a reflected hue from it surrounds, it was less than 100 feet off the ground in a heavily treed area, pine trees all around.

Thanks Doug.

Must be a function of the bird's plumage.  I noticed the same effect on other photos of the hawk on the web.

Great photo
