Just back from Eielson AFB for the RFA 17-2 in Alaska.  This summer AK Ex involves units from Japan, Korea , PACAF units and 107th FS from Michigan ANG A-10C . Marines send in the VMFA251 but they were base in JBER in Anchorage.

Just too cool!!  A bit of news concerning the F15C and the F16; the C is not going to be made anymore and will be replaced by a very highly upgraded F16.  The new Falcon will have much better avionics/weapons package and will get a new engine from GE...much more thrust.  I thought it was a bad idea, but I spoke with a retired F15 driver that keeps up with this stuff.  He said the pilots that have flown the updated F16 is the real deal. 

 

The F15 Strike Eagle will continue production.  Pretty tough to replace that thing.

We have completed the Full report for red Flag AK 17-2
PACAF comes out in full swing with units from MISAWA, OSAN... also Marines units from VMFA-251 and Michigan ANG A-10 units

The 18th Aggressors does make a lot of interest in both aviation photographers and enthusiasts alike since they have these colorful schemes over the boring grey!
