Holy smoke.  Truly nice work.

I'm trying to pick a favorite but its difficult.  I think the Corsair followed by the Vampire and the KC135.

They're all very engaging. The only thing I could moan about is that the P40 suffers from a bit of heat haze which just softens the detail a tiny bit.

Thank you.  The heat haze, amount of smoke still hanging in the air (these flew just after a pyrotechnic heavy Vietnam Rescue Reenactment) and the fact that the Tamron is a touch on the soft side to begin with did not help.  But I'm overall happy with how they came out.

Rod,
I wonder...would a circular polarizer help with heat haze?

Hi Mark.

I'm not sure.  I thought it only affected reflected light (?).  maybe someone else will know.

Theoretically it would work, I've used polarizers to cut through haze in some of my pictures (I used it on one of my Canadian rockies photos with great effect).

Awesome shots!

The only bad thing was the weather. At least one cloud needed! :D
