Hello! I took this photo yesterday and started editing it today. Now I wanted to know which one is better - with crop or without crop?

The corner doesn't really add anything to the image in my opinion. What do you think?

Sorry for the huge embeds, I don't know how to resize the images in the text editor.

Really nice building looks like you got the exposure spot on too as I like the detail in the sky, I prefer the crop. Thanks for posting.

As for the size, it does not seem to be an issue. I tend to post JPEGs and resize them down to approximately 800 pixels wide in Adobe Photoshop elements which usually creates a file size between 560 to 900KB.

I agree with you. The corner adds nothing, so go with the crop. Very nice sharp detailed shot. Good sky. Beautiful architecture. Architecture photography is my main interest (flowers are a close second) so I always enjoy photos like this.

Can you post the EXIF data? Helps me learn.

I post my photos here at 1500 x 1200 pixels max., file size of less than 3MB. I think that is the maximum allowed here. I resize them in IrfanView before attaching them to my message.

Thanks Geedee, glad to hear :)

Rdb, thanks and sure!

Nikon D7200 with Sigma 18-35mm f/1.8 Art at 18mm and f/8, shutter 1/160 and ISO 100. I shot RAW and edited in Lightroom.

I tweaked the sky with an adjustment brush with these settings:

skysettings.PNG

I bumped up shadows because inevitably some of the adjustment brush is going to overlap the edges of the building (using auto mask will cause a small bright gap at the edge) so the reduction in exposure won't effect those areas so clearly.

Yep...the cropped version is much better.  The corner is a distraction.
