I was out trying to get shallow depth of field stuff this morning, and this guy decided to stop by and wave hello. I feel really stupid because I spent the whole morning shooting at f/2.8 with 26mm extension tubes at 150mm; the DOF is super thin, and , oh well, that's me.I just get wrapped up in the macro world and become oblivious to just about everything. This is no masterpiece, but it's a fun shot. CC welcome!

HIGH FIVE, DOOD! :D

Sweet insect and lovely photo. Looks like you nailed the focus.

For me saturation is a little too low. But maybe I'm used to those really saturated insects in my place. They looks like a rainbow just threw up at them but they are easier to spot in the grass and flowers :D Which is actually good if someone is allergic.

I'm trying to start my adventure in micro world but the weather in Poland decided to get back to winter season so a few more weeks of waiting...

Thanks!  This is Beijing; everything is pretty drab.  I am sure the saturation could be upped; but once I start messing with that stuff, I get to places I don't know how to get back from.  I change one thing, and something else goes to crap.  I am looking forward to seeing your macro stuff; I am really impressed with what you're shown so far.  I hope the weather gets better for you soon!

I think more saturation looks better - thanks!  I am not sure what a lot of the controls do, so I appreciate the suggestion

Looks to me like you framed that up perfectly, and I am impressed with the detail, colours and DOF.... Very nice indeed Jonny, thanks for posting.

Thanks Gedee, Doug and Rod!  I possibly may be developing patience.  I watched this bud and fly for about 20 minutes and captured 3 sets of shots.  I went out last week and got my gear set but didn't take a single shot.  There are times when I just blast away test shots, but I've caught myself waiting a bit more for a shot that has more than just the subject.  All of you have been helpful, so many thanks!
